WEST ALABAMA, (WCBI) — It still doesn’t appear Lamar and Pickens County tornado victims will receive assistance from FEMA.
However, the county governments will.
FEMA’s Public Assistance Program will reimburse the counties up to 75% of the costs associated with storm recovery efforts.
This usually includes debris removal, along with infrastructure repairs to roads, public buildings, utilities, and parks.
The remaining 25% of the price tag will come from the state of Alabama or the county governments.
