Video: Military Men, Women Won’t Face Cuts in Benefits

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — One of the nation’s top Veterans Affairs lawmakers says military men and women won’t face extensive cuts in their benefits in the future.
House Veterans Affairs Chairman Jeff Miller fielded questions today from veterans, spouses and active duty personnel at Mississippi State University.
Congressmen Alan Nunnelee and Gregg Harper put together the meeting.

“The Department of Veterans Affairs has been immune from the budget ax in congress,” U.S. Rep. Jeff Miller said. “The area where we have to be careful is defense. We are cutting our national defense back to a point where we may be going too far.”
Miller said he also didn’t think congress would approve another round of base closures in 2017.
