COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A busy day began early for the executive director of the MHSAA.
Following a ruling last week by the MHSAA that will no longer allow out-of-state students to compete in athletics, three schools that play WCBI area teams in class 1A are expected to move to the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools to compete in athletics.
Don Hinton was in Northeast Mississippi on Wednesday to attend the MHSAA District I meeting and spoke on the subject of schools leaving the Association.
“It became time with fairness over a period of years to enforce this rule so we have fairness for public, private and parochial schools in our association,” Hinton said.
