OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s department has a distinction that only four others in Mississippi have: state accreditation.
The department was recently re-accredited after first earning the status in 2012.
It is a rigorous process that Sheriff Steve Gladney is proud his department successfully completed.
Gladney says, “”I tell people all the time, we take pride in doing things the right way and this means something to me and even in 2012 there were four sheriff departments in the state that accredited and here it is 2015, there are still just four.”
Sheriff’s departments in Leake, Lauderdale, and Desoto counties are the others accredited in the state.
