Garbage Truck Catches Fire On Highway 45

Columbus, Miss. (WCBI) – A Waste Pro garbage truck caught fire while going down Highway 45 in Columbus.

It happened in front of K-Mart, just before 4 PM on Thursday.

Witnesses say flames started shooting from under the truck.

The driver escaped without injury. However, the truck did receive heavy fire damage.

Traffic was backed up in the area while Columbus firefighters quickly extinguished the flames.
