Video: Beans and Greens Dinner Held in Starkville

STARKVILLE, Miss. – (WCBI) Oktibbeha County Democrats bring politics back to the dinner table.

The Democratic Party held its “Beans and Greens” fundraiser at the Starkville Sportsplex.

It is a grassroots movement that not only encourages residents to vote, but also brings up issues surrounding state and national politics.

Monday night, Democrat Travis Childers was tonight’s keynote speaker.

Childers, a former Congressman, is currently running in the democratic primary for U.S. Senate. The seat is currently held by long time incumbent and Republican Senator Thad Cochran.
