AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) — A record breaking crowd made this year’s Amory Railroad Festival the largest ever. More than 200 arts and crafts vendors and at least 20 booths were set up to sell food. Organizers say good weather helped bring thousands to Frisco Park in downtown. Big name entertainment, like country singer Mark Wills also helped.
Now, festival committee will meet to start talking about next year’s big event.
“The attendance was mind boggling,” said the festival chairperson, Heather Jones. “We had over 65,000 people come and participate and enjoy our festival this year. We will have our wrap up meeting next week, just to reflect on things we can do better and things we need to include and maybe some things we don’t need to do again.”
This was the 36th year the Railroad Festival has been held in downtown Amory, making it one of the oldest in North Mississippi.
