On Tuesday, April 15 they are expecting about 25 people to stop by and ask for food assistance but they only have enough food to feed 11. They need tuna, peanut butter, canned goods and rice. On average, they feed about 150 people per month and are projected to feed more than that this month. People can ask for food assistance on Tuesdays and Fridays.
“If you were a family that was in need, how would you feel if the Salvation Army could stand in that place to do that? The community has always been good to help us out and support us and we just need the community to come behind us again,” said Major Eric Roberts of the Columbus Salvation Army.
They are accepting donations at the Salvation Army located at 2219 Main Street in Columbus.
