Bond Granted for Woman Accused of Abandoning Baby

HOUSTON, Miss. (WCBI) — A judge has granted bond for the Houston woman accused of abandoning her newborn son at a storage building last month.

25-year-old Cora Watkins has been released on $12,000 bond.

Watkins is charged with felony child abuse and abandoning a child under the age of six.

Her baby is now in state custody.

Watkins’ preliminary hearing is on May 15.
