A Glance at Projects Included in Miss. Bond Bills

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Here’s a list of projects set out in House Bill 787 and Senate Bill 2975, under which the state of Mississippi could sell bonds to borrow up to $230 million. Lawmakers say the bills will be revised, which means some numbers could change:

Public universities: $92.8 million.

Loan to North Central Rail Authority to buy railroad: $30 million.

Community colleges: $23 million.

History and civil rights museums, Jackson: $14 million.

Economic development highways: $10 million.

Miss. Development Authority aid to companies: $10 million.

East Miss. Community College Center for Manufacturing Technology, Mayhew: $8 million.

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., Tupelo: $8 million.

Miss. Arts and Entertainment Center, Meridian: $5 million.

Miss. Development Authority Development Infrastructure Program grants and loans: $5 million.

Oak Grove High School auditorium: $3 million.

Tammy Wynette Museum, Tremont: $2.5 million.

State parks repair and renovation: $2.5 million

Railroad improvements: $2.4 million

Historic building renovations: $1.95 million.

Aid to small municipalities/limited counties: $1.5 million.

USM Gulf Coast Research Lab, Ocean Springs: $1 million.

Madison Interstate 55 connector: $1 million.

Brandon US 80 work: $1 million.

Hattiesburg Zoo: $700,000.

Kemper County multipurpose building:$700,000.

Marty Stuart Country Music Center, Philadelphia: $500,000.

William Faulkner Library, New Albany: $500,000.

East Mississippi Rail Authority environmental impact statement: $500,000.

Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, Jackson: $500,000.

Jackson Zoo: $500,000.

Columbus City Hall: $400,000

Fannie Lou Hamer Cancer Center, Ruleville: $300,000.

City of Southaven Snowden Park: $250,000

Pascagoula Maritime Museum: $250,000

Shubuta Town Hall renovation: $250,000

Town of Summit historic standpipe: $150,000

Town of Bolton Clifton Henderson Building and Fire Department: $100,000
