ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) — Aberdeen residents have something to celebrate, as they welcome the city’s first Mexican restaurant to town. El Sabor de Tabasco made its debut on Friday, and the owners are thrilled to bring the culture and down home cooking from their native town of Tabasco, Mexico to eager foodies in Monroe County. Ismail Lopez explains why it means so much to open the business in the quaint town:
“It means so much to us, because we need some Mexican restaurants here, and people have been asking a lot about opening one. Always, we go to other places instead in Aberdeen. We need the business here in Aberdeen, because I live here too.”
Sabor de Tabasco will be serving traditional Mexican foods such as quesadillas, tacos, and enchiladas to name a few. The owner says don’t let the name Tabasco fool you. The food is not extra spicy. The name comes from the name of the town in Mexico.
The restaurant will be open Tuesdays through Sundays.
