Boiler Explodes, Catching Aliceville Plant On Fire

Aliceville, Ala. (WCBI) – A boiler exploded at Buchanan Hardwoods in Aliceville, Alabama on Thursday evening.

Pickens County EMA Director Ken Gibson says a silo caught fire because of the explosion, that was reported just after 7 PM. He says the blaze is contained within the area where the explosion occurred and has not spread.

The plant is shut down while crews work to extinguish the flames.

No injuries have been reported. Multiple fire departments were dispatched to the scene.
