Video: Driver Crashes Into Utility Pole And Flees

Columbus, Miss. (WCBI) – The man who drove over a utility pole and knocked out power to portions of downtown Columbus is still eluding police.

Only about foot of the pole could be seen under the Nissan Sentra after the Monday night crash.

It happened just after 10:30 PM in the 100 block of 14th Street North.

The unidentified driver fled the scene. His female passenger wasn’t injured.

Power lines and transformers were scattered across the street, one landed next to a business.

Columbus Light and Water says three utility poles were broken in the crash.

Police have not released any additional information about the accident.
