NORTHEAST MISS. (WCBI) – Holiday shopping sales began this weekend in Amory, Columbus, West Point and Louisville. Merchants hosted Open House events to give shoppers a preview of the discounts and products available this season. Shoppers can find everything from Christmas decorations, clothing, furniture and jewelry. Store owners say it looks like business will be good this holiday season and shoppers can expect good deals. Brandi Hargroue owns Finders Keepers in downtown Amory.
“What we do at our stores, we do 50% off the fall and winter clothing for people. We also let people bring clothing up here that doesn’t fit their children and let them swap out to get bigger sizes for their kids,” says Hargroue.
“Actually when we opened the door this morning there were people already waiting outside to get in and it’s just been nonstop ever since. Great crowds, good to see everybody out,” says Scott Reed of Petal Pushers in West Point.
This year there are only 3 and a half weeks between Black Friday and Christmas Day so get out and take advantage of those local bargains. The Open House sales will last until Sunday afternoon at 4 and stores will continue to offer deals throughout the holiday shopping season.
