Columbus P.D. makes arrest in Saturday evening shooting case
On Saturday, August 10 around 6:09 p.m. Columbus Police Department responded to Moores Creek Road by the Riverwalk for a gunshot victim.
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – An early evening 911 call reporting an accidental shooting turns into a homicide investigation.
On Saturday, August 10, a man called and said a friend was playing with a gun and accidentally shot herself.
Columbus Police Department responded around 6:09 to Moores Creek Road by the Riverwalk in downtown Columbus.
18-year-old Abria Ke’ Amber Harris suffered a single gunshot wound to her head.
Harris was pronounced deceased on scene by Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant.
20-year-old Dietrix Cunningham is being charged with Murder and is being held at Lowndes County Detention Center awaiting Initial Appearance.
Harris was a student at New Hope High School.
