MBI investigates inmate death at Lafayette County Jail
LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation was investigating the death of an inmate at the Lafayette County Jail.
On Tuesday, 53-year-old Marie Parkman of Jackson was found unresponsive in her cell.
Lafayette County Jail personnel and paramedics from Baptist attempted to revive Parkman, but she was pronounced dead.
Foul play was not suspected at this time.
Since the death occurred in custody, the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation was taking over the investigation.
