Gov. appoints new exec. dir. at Mississippi Development Authority
JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – Governor Tate Reeves is making some changes at the top of Mississippi’s leading Economic Development organization.
Reeves has appointed William “Bill” Cork to the office of Executive Director at the Mississippi Development Authority. Cork has served as Deputy Director and Chief Economic Development Officer for the past three years. He has 30 years of economic and industrial development experience in Mississippi and Texas.
The Governor has also appointed his current Director of the Office of Military Affairs, P.J. Waldrop, to take over as M-D-A’s Chief Operations Officer. Waldrop has served as a U.S. Senate staffer and helped Reeves establish the state’s Defense Communities Development Council.
Reeves is also moving Steven McDevitt from his post as Deputy Commissioner of Finance at the Mississippi Department of Public Safety to the position of Chief Investment Officer at MDA.
