Oktibbeha County joins list of communities under burn ban
OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Oktibbeha County joined a growing list of communities under a burn ban.
Every county, except for Choctaw and Prentiss Counties, in the WCBI viewing area is under a burn ban.
Oktibbeha County’s burning restriction will continue through December 8.
Anything with an open flame producing an ember is not allowed during a burn ban. The wind can carry embers up to a half mile away.
It’s so dry firefighters believe a cigarette started a grass fire in southern Lowndes County on Tuesday.
This means no campfires, fire pits, or burn barrels.
