Hoot and Hoops: MUW basketball teams serve up Halloween fun

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The men’s and women’s basketball teams for Mississippi University for Women usually serve buckets on the court, but for Halloween, they served buckets of candy for the children. The programs hosted the first “Hoot and Hoops” event on campus.

Players and coaches handed out candy for kids the night before Halloween.

“Halloween ‘Hoot and Hoops’ is kind of a kick-off to the men’s and women’s basketball season coming up but also trying to bridge the community to our athletic department. You saw various teams giving out candy to trick-or-treaters,” said Dean Burrows, Head Men’s Basketball Coach.

The event ended with a VIP game between players, coaches, and local celebrities.
