Lowndes County Federation of Democratic Women: Get Out the Vote rally

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The Lowndes County Federation of Democratic Women will host the Get Out the Vote rally.

The event is to educate voters on the policies democratic candidates will be running on in upcoming elections.

Special guests include state and local democratic candidates and other special guests.

Jackie Exum is the President of the organization sponsoring the rally.

She said people need to be informed that change comes about through the power of a vote.

“We can no longer continue to ignore the poverty that exists in this state, the uneducated that exists in this state, the lack of medical care that exists in this state, the lack of money to purchase groceries in this state. It is so important for people to know the importance of their vote. And that every vote counts,” said Exum.

The event will be held October 24 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Columbus City Municipal Complex.
