Union Co. Coroner Resigns

UNION CO., Miss. – (WCBI) Union County’s coroner finds himself embroiled in legal trouble.

The State Auditor’s office launched the investigation, after Golding reportedly issued false invoices to the county.

Those claims included fees for investigating deaths within the county limits.

Stacey Pickering’s representatives say they have seized a $5,000 check from the Chancery Clerk’s office as evidence of this alleged embezzlement.

Golding resigned from his position Thursday.
