Sims Scott Community Center no longer stands

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A Columbus gathering place was demolished after suffering heavy damage in last month’s tornado.

The Sims Scott Community Center no longer sits 20th Street.

The demolition process started this week.

By Thursday morning, the building was no longer on the property.

Sims Scott was built in 1997.

Future plans for the center and park haven’t been released.
