Man sentenced in Noxubee County assault and escape cases
NOXUBEE COUNTY, MIss. (WCBI) – A man was sentenced to a dozen years in prison for a Noxubee County assault and escape.
Jamie Welch will spend 10 years in prison for Aggravated Assault.
He pleaded guilty to beating a man, leaving the victim paralyzed.
Welch is one of five people arrested in the August 2015 assault of Charles Womack.
Welch was also ordered to spend two years behind bars for an escape earlier this year.
He escaped with another inmate on January 20 and was back in jail six days later.
