Holland seeking another term

LEE COUNTY (WCBI)  District 16 Representative Steve Holland is in again.   The long time lawmaker from Lee County filed to run for the post Friday morning.   Holland flirted with retirement a few years back but opted to stay in the Legislature.

HOLLAND

BELOW IS HOLLANDS COMPLETE STATEMENT IN HIS DECISION TO RUN

It has been one of the great honors of my life to serve the people of Lee County in the Mississippi House of Representatives for 36 years. Whether on the floor of the House or at home in the district, it has been a joy to be a voice for working folks, the least, last and most vulnerable amongst us who don’t always get the attention and support they deserve.

I believe I still have more to offer. My health is good and the issues that moved me to run in 1983 still animate me today. Our children still need strong public schools, our rural communities still need access to medical care and we all need roads and bridges that can safely deliver us to our destinations.

In the spirt of an independent, honest and forthright voice that has always been my mantra, I am excited to announce I qualified this morning to seek another term in the House serving District 16. I’ve never done this on my own and I don’t intend to start now. That’s why I am asking for your support throughout this election season and for your vote on Election Day, November 5, 2019. I express extreme gratitude for your loyal, consistent support for me over these many years. You will get the same Rep. Steve Holland you’ve come to know, trust and depend on.
