2 dead, 2 in custody following Calhoun County double homicide

CALHOUN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- Calhoun County Sheriff Greg Pollan says two people are in custody and facing charges, in connection to a double homicide.

Christopher Keel and Trinity Hastings, who investigators say are in a dating relationship, are in the Calhoun County Jail.

Keel is charged with Capital Murder and is believed to be the gunman. Hastings is being charged with Accessory after the fact.

Sheriff Greg Pollan says deputies were investigating a missing persons report after two people were reported missing.

Investigators were led to a home at 221 County Road 285 and spoke with Keel and Hastings. During the investigation, deputies learned the two were connected to the missing persons report and arrested the two homeowners.

“Approximately 250 yards directly behind us here in a wooded area, there’s a creek,” said Sheriff Pollan. “When we did the search of that area, that’s when we found the two persons that had been reported missing deceased in the creek. Each one had multiple gunshot wounds.”

Pollan says the bodies of the male and female victims have been sent off for an autopsy.

The incident remains under investigation.
