Ashley Furniture donates to St. Jude and LeBonheur
ECRU, MISS. (WCBI) – Employees at a Northeast Mississippi furniture manufacturer made donations to two well known children’s hospitals.
Ashley Furniture and its employees at the Ecru plant donated $43,000 to Le Bonheur’s Children’s Hospital, and $31,000 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Those donations were accepted by representatives from both hospitals, along with a family and patient from LeBonheur Children’s Hospital.
The donations are made possible through Ashley’s “Buck A Week” program, which allows employees to voluntarily donate at least $1 to either of the hospitals.
“A lot of our employees have been impacted by either LeBonheur or St Jude’s or either know someone who has been impacted and that’s one of the amazing things about bringing these two organizations in at our Ashley Furniture facility here in Ecru, they are able to go around and meet some of the employees that participate in this buck a week program, shake hands and exchange stories with organizations and ambassadors to these programs,” said Cole Bawek, public relations director for Ashley Furniture.
The employee contributions were collected from employees at Ashley’s Ecru, Verona, Ripley and Saltillo locations.
