Candidates for state and county office able to announce intentions

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – This is the first day for candidates for statewide and county office to announce their intentions.

Qualifying begins Wednesday.

Candidates file with the Mississippi Secretary of State’s office.

The deadline to qualify for these offices is March 1.

Primary elections for statewide and county office will be held August 6th.

The general election is Tuesday, November 5.
