Zero fatalities in North Mississippi during New Year enforcement period
NORTH MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) – Drivers in north Mississippi were among the safest on state roads over the New Year holiday.
From the Starkville troop to the Batesville headquarters, troopers reported zero fatalities.
Troopers were still busy monitoring highways, working collisions and even making DUI arrests.
Drivers passing through the Troop G and Troop F jurisdictions account for 63 seat belt violations.
That’s half of all tickets written for lack of seat restraints.
The New Year’s holiday enforcement period ended January 1 at midnight.
