Trotter Convention Center director expected to retire

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The man who has guided the Trotter Convention Center for the past four years is retiring.

Mike Anderson is expected to officially submit a letter to the Columbus City Council and Mayor Robert Smith at Wednesday’s council meeting.

Anderson has been the director of the city’s largest venue space since January of 2015. He took over as the convention center was poised to re-open following renovations.

Anderson increased the price structure, developed a plan to court more events and even supervised the addition of space for smaller events.

Anderson’s retirement is expected to take place March first.

The hiring process for a new director should begin immediately.
