Man behind bars after stabbing in Monroe County

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – One man is in serious condition and another is in jail after a stabbing in Monroe County.

Michael Cole, 31, is charged with Aggravated Assault.

Deputies were called to a home on Coontail Road, about 10:40 p.m. Thursday.

Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell said Cole and the victim were arguing over a woman when the stabbing happened.

The unidentified victim is in serious condition at a Tupelo hospital.

Cole remains in the Monroe County jail.
