Jobs coming to Lee County
LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- An economic development announcement is being described as an early Christmas present for Lee County.
Williams-Sonoma’s Sutter Street Manufacturing is expanding its operations to Lee County.
The furniture manufacturer is opening in an existing facility in the Harry A Martin North Lee Industrial Complex.
Company officials are already preparing the 60,000 square foot building and workers will make handcrafted upholstered furniture for Williams – Sonoma brands including Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids and Williams Sonoma Home.
“Sutter Street is one of their premiere lines of furniture, manufactured here, selling it all over the world, so if you look at what their investment is, our investment in the state has been, 350 jobs, bringing it back,” said Gov. Phil Bryant.
“We are very excited about the local business climate here, access to skilled craftsmen and women which are so important to building the upholstered products for us, so that is why we ended up coming here,” said Darryl Webster.
The expansion will create 350 jobs over the next 5 years.
Hiring is already underway on the MS Works website and the company will hold a job fair next week.
