Bevill Wins Runoff for Lee County Court Judge Post

TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – A local attorney says she is ready to start her new role as a Lee County Court Judge.

Stacy Bevill beat opponent Tommy McElroy Tuesday evening for the Post One spot on Lee County Court

Bevill has experience working in non judicial roles in the Itawamba County youth court and the Lee County Court.

She joins James Moore in overseeing the Lee County court system.  Moore won election November Sixth.

Bevill says she will likely handle much of the youth court cases.

“I have actually practiced law in all different forms of the court we are going to do, I’ve made no bones about it that youth court is my heart it’s where I want to focus and I’m excited about what we can do for the county and children and families here,” Bevill said.

Lee County Supervisors agreed earlier this year to add a second judge for the court because of an increasing workload.
