President Donald Trump Rallies Voters For Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith At Tupelo Rally
TUPELO,MISS. (WCBI) – President Donald Trump says Tuesday’s runoff election is an opportunity for voters to help keep his conservative agenda moving along.
President Donald Trump stepped off Air Force One with Senator Cindy Hyde Smith for the rally at Tupelo Regional Airport.
A crowd estimated at 8,000 to 10,000 was on hand for the first visit to Tupelo by a sitting President since 1934.
“You know what the new slogan is, so it’s Make America Great Again, right, new slogan is Keep America Great,” said President Trump.
Senator Hyde Smith spoke to the crowd, along with Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant, and South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, who flew in with President Trump.
For many in the crowd the big draw was the chance to be a part of Tupelo history, it was only the city’s second visit by a sitting president .
What did you think of it?
“I loved it, it was great,” said Taryn Boyd.
You missed school for this,?
“Yes, I’m glad,” said Daniel Gore.
“My son told us, mom and dad, are you going to get us tickets to go see Trump? And I said yes, so we did,” said Chris O’Daniel.
Do you think you’ll remember this for a long time?
“Yes, I will remember this my whole life, seeing a President in person,” said Connor O’Daniel.
So far every senate candidate President Trump has campaigned for has won, supporters hope that streak continues.
President Trump and Senator Hyde Smith went to Biloxi for another rally after Tupelo, where they were joined by Vice President Mike Pence.
