Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith talks to Northeast Mississippi constituents

ITAWAMBA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Mississippi Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith was in the area talking to constituents.

Thursday night, she was the guest speaker at the Itawamba County Republican Women’s Club.

One main topic she discussed was the upcoming presidential election.

She pointed to the economy as a key issue for voters in 2020.

“People are enjoying a good economy, people want the dignity of a job and when people are out buying houses, buying cars they are able to send their children to college and based on the tax reform from this administration. So we’re capitalizing on the good things that have passed and continue to go toward sustaining this economy that is truly the goal here,” said Sen. Hyde-Smith.

Senator Hyde-Smith faces Democrat challenger Mike Espy in the November election. Super Tuesday primaries are March 10 for Mississippi.
