Cirque Italia Brings First “Water Circus” To North Mississippi
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – High flying aerial performances, tricks from roller skaters and other feats of skill performed under a blue and white big top tent takes place this weekend in Tupelo.
“Cirque Italia” is in North Mississippi for the first time.
Audiences will see a “water circus” where performances take place with a water curtain, lagoon and a stage with water fountains.
The unique circus has been popular across the world and features acts from Russia to Mexico.
“Working here is definitely different from any other circus I’ve worked on, from the first time on the stage it was a lot going on and it’s really something to get used to, being surrounded by water,” said Corissa Fusco, a performer with Cirque Italia.
“I’m fifth generation circus performer, so I don’t see my life out of the circus, it’s something fun, you travel every week, meet new people, new cities, new food, it’s like you ‘re on vacation all the time,” said Emiliano Fusco, a performer with Cirque Italia.
Cirque Italia is in Tupelo at the Mall at Barnes Crossing, in the parking lot next to Sears. It runs through Sunday. For more information, go to cirqueitalia.com/tickets or call: (941) 704-8572
