Donation Drive Seeks Game Consoles For Boys And Girls Clubs Of North Mississippi
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A donation drive is underway that will help provide game consoles for hundreds of children served everyday by the Boys and Girls Clubs of North Mississippi.
This summer, Albine Bennett was one of the dancers for the annual “Dance Like the Stars” fundraiser. During that experience, Bennett toured both Boys and Girls Clubs locations in Tupelo, and realized the clubs need more game consoles.
So she is asking the community to donate gently used game consoles, games and other accessories.
Her goal is to get five gaming consoles for each club.
Bennett says the work taking place at the Boys and Girls Clubs benefits everyone.
“These kids come here, do homework, get mentoring, they have adults they can look up to and it gives them hope and a glimpse to what life could be like, a lot of kids here do not have gaming consoles they do not have means of getting them for them, right now they’re having to share them, they have one or two per club,” Bennett said.
Bennett hopes to have all the consoles the week before Christmas. For information on how to donate, please follow this link: https://bgcnmspayments.com/product/donation
