Tupelo Holds Annual Community Thanksgiving Service
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Tupelo’s annual citywide Thanksgiving service was celebrated at the Link Centre Thursday afternoon.
Members of the Tupelo Special Olympics Team helped lead the processional for the service.
Mayor Jason Shelton, and TPSD Superintendent Rob Picou talked about the importance of community support and involvement.
Participants say the service is a great way to showcase unity in the community.
“This is very important for the city of Tupelo and surrounding areas to come to this event, because it’s a time of Thanksgiving, a time of letting everyone know we celebrate love and for the community, sometimes we go place after place and we don’t get to come together and this is a time to let everybody know we do love one another and we care about one another,” said Pastor Chris Traylor.
The service is organized by the Mayor’s Community Outreach Task Force.
