A child was shot in an accidental shooting Wednesday afternoon

OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A gun went off and a child was shot.

Oktibbeha County Lieutenant Jon Davis says investigators were called to Oswalt Road for an accidental shooting.

It happened mid-afternoon on Wednesday, December 31st.

The child was treated at OCH before being airlifted to Batson Children’s Hospital in Jackson. WCBI has not independently confirmed her condition.

Deputies are investigating the incident.
