Fulton Native Brian Dozier To Host Crossroads Ranch Fundraiser

TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – A World Series champion is in our area to host a fundraiser for a nonprofit that serves special needs adults.

Brian Dozier, a Fulton native and pitcher for the Washington Nationals, will be master of ceremonies for the event called “Golden Halo.”

It benefits Crossroads Ranch of Itawamba County.  The ranch is being built, which will serve as a home and workplace for special needs adults.

Dozier is a close friend to Marcus Beard, who suffered a traumatic brain injury when he had a motorcycle wreck at age 17.  Marcus’ mother started Crossroads Ranch and Dozier says he is honored to help out.

“Marcus is a good friend of mine and he had the accident after a Friday night football game, we had just got done beating Aberdeen, to see his strides he’s made throughout the years and everything coming to fruition now, at Crossroads Ranch, it’s truly phenomenal, I get to see him this weekend and raise a lot of money for a great cause,” Dozier said.

Residents at the ranch make pottery to help support the day to day operations.   “Golden Halo” takes place at the Tupelo Furniture Market Saturday evening.
