Son being held in connection to father’s death in Tupelo
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A deadly father-son shooting, in Tupelo, has connections to an internationally known rap group.
The shooting happened in the 500 block of Lumpkin Avenue on Monday night.
Officers found 62-year-old Floyd Sullivan dead and with gunshot wounds.
The son is being called a person of interest and is being held for a psychiatric review.
Family at the home tell WCBI that Sullivan is the step-father of rappers Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi, the duo is better known Rae Sremmurd.
TMZ reports the suspect is the half-brother of the two artists.
The shooting remains under investigation.
Coroner Carolyn Green says Sullivan’s body is being sent for an autopsy.
