Victims in Starkville construction accident identified

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The names of two workers killed in a construction accident have been released.

William Kizzire, 19, and Zachary Wayne Osbourn, 36, were trapped when a trench collapsed at a construction site near Lynn Lane and South Montgomery Street Tuesday morning.

Kizzire was flown to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo but died en route. Osbourn was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two men worked for Southern Civil Contracting out of Tuscaloosa.

OSHA representatives have been at the scene investigating the incident.

Both Kizzire and Osbourn’s bodies have been sent to the state crime lab for an autopsy.
