OXFORD – A Union County man is in federal custody accused of threatening to kill people at the Booneville library.
Robert Scott Goodin of 115 Highway 4 East, New Site, was taken into custody Thursday and is temporarily detained on an FBI affidavit.
A three-page criminal complaint to Magistrate Judge S. Allan Alexander in Oxford claims that Goodin made threats on the social website Facebook.
The affidavit claims he threatened to kill people at the George E. Allen Library in Booneville and Police Chief Michael Ramey contacted the FBI.
Goodin reportedly told the FBI investigator about “a demon” inside him trying to kill him.
The agent claims Goodwin told him he won’t use a gun, but a sword and knives.
Alexander heard initial charges against Goodin and ordered him temporarily jailed Thursday.
