Former Ecru Officer Pleads Guilty
ECRU, Miss. (WCBI) — A former Ecru police officer turned minister pleads guilty to extorting money during traffic stops.
Jody Mac Rock, 35, faces up to two years in prison, $200 thousand in fines and restitution when sentenced later this year.
During a hearing in federal court today, Rock, who was an Ecru police officer at the time, admitted he secured cash from two traffic suspects in June 2008 in exchange for not writing them tickets. That violated their constitutional rights.
Rock remains free on bond pending his sentencing.
