Investigators tell WCBI the victim was shot several times outside his mother’s house
WCBI has learned that the victim, who is in his 40’s, owned a car wash that sits on Highway 50 East.
Chief Cook said things are difficult right now because there’s not much evidence, and those who police have spoken with, say they didn’t see or hear anything.
West Point police have now brought in the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation to assist in this investigation.
“Right now we don’t have anything,” said Chief Cook. “We called all of the state agencies, we got the sheriffs department, MBN (Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics), MBI (Mississippi Bureau of Investigation). Right now all we have is a crime scene. We don’t have any information, no leads, no suspects, so at this time we ask that anybody with any information to come forward. Call Crimestoppers or call the West Point Police Department with any tips or information that you can give us on the situation.”
At this time the victim’s name is not being released by the coroner’s office.
