CDC gives $6.5 million to Mississippi to help with COVID-19 efforts
Mississippi will receive over $6.5 million to help combat COVID-19 in the state.
The funding will help build up the state’s COVID-19 testing, contact tracing, and containment capacities.
The money, which is a part of the CARES Act, will help inform decisions on protecting the public while taking action to emerge from shut-down orders.
It can also be used to enhance test capacity, control high-risk settings to protect vulnerable populations, monitor healthcare system capacity and other actions.
This is the second CDC award Mississippi has received this month.
