Gordon makes landfall late Tuesday night
PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WCBI)- Gordon made landfall on the Mississippi Gulf Coast late Tuesday night.
The storm made landfall near Pascagoula in Jackson County, a few miles west of the Mississippi-Alabama border.
Gordon brought heavy wind and rain, along with high surf to the area.
Wind gusts were reported between 60 and 70 mph.
There were also several power outages that have impacted 30,000 customers in the region, mostly in Alabama.
So far, there has been at least one confirmed tornado in the Florida Panhandle.
In Pensacola, Florida one fatality was reported.
WCBI Meteorologist Jacob Dickey said the threat to the Mississippi Gulf Coast is over, but moving north in our area, we could still see its effects.
