Video: Clay County Prosecutor Resigns

CLAY COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)-Clay County Prosecutor Angela Turner-Lairy has resigned.

Turner-Lairy submitted her formal resignation to the Clay County Circuit Court’s Office last week.

She says it is mandatory now that she serves as a state legislator.

Turner-Lairy serves as senator for District 16 and served as the county prosecutor for the last five years.

A special election will be held November 5th to fill the county prosecuting attorney vacancy.
