Hostage Situation Ends Safely

ITAWAMBA CO. Miss. – (WCBI) Tense moments in Itawamba County Friday afternoon, after a hostage situation in the Carolina Community.

According to Sheriff Chris Dickinson, that two women were held against their will in a house on Palmer Road.

Deputies convinced the suspect to release the victims.

According to Dickinson, the man was heavily intoxicated and had fired several rounds.

The man finally surrendered to deputies around 6 pm without incident.

No word on the name of the suspect or if any charges have been filed at this time.
