LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – There’s been another string of burglaries in Lowndes County.
Multiple home burglaries have been reported where several types of electronics were stolen including televisions, games, computers. They’ve even reported jewelry and guns missing. The Lowndes County Sheriff’s department is asking residents to keep their eyes open and report any suspicious activity to Crime-stoppers.
“Most of the time it appears that they’re in and out within 5 to 10 minutes and they know that nobody is at home. We don’t believe it’s one particular group, you know it’s a shame but we got many of these thugs or criminals out there preying on the people of Lowndes County and it’s many of them and just a few of us,” said Sheirff Arledge.
Many of the burglaries reported did not have forced entry into the homes. Sheriff Arledge says the best way to protect your items is to make sure you lock the door every time you leave the house. Don’t post your recent purchases on Facebook or any social media where criminals can keep track and installing house alarms are suggested.
