Early Morning Fire at Webster County Courthouse

It’s a race to save the records in Webster County. R. H. Brown is on the scene of the blaze at the historic courthouse this morning.

The call came in to the Emergency 9-1-1 Center about 2:30 a.m. The southwest corner of the building showed flames when the first team arrived on the scene in Walthall.  Eupora Fire Chief Richard Love called for ladder trucks from Starkville.

Volunteer companies from Walthall, Eupora, Mathiston, Cumberland, Clarkson, Belfountain are on the scene.  Fire departments from Choctaw and Calhoun Counties have also responded to the call.
